Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Kenny Crusaders vs. Creekside Knights

The Bishop Kenny Crusaders will venture away from home to face off against the Creekside Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Kenny's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Creekside's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Bishop Kenny is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Rickards, who was ranked 19th at the time (Bishop Kenny was ranked 22nd). Bishop Kenny strolled past Rickards with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 34-18.

Bishop Kenny found their leader in sophomore Kathleen Crawley, who posted 16 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Crawley has scored at least a third of Bishop Kenny's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Mayer, who put up five points and five assists.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Creekside beat Bartram Trail 57-52 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Creekside has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Bishop Kenny, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

Everything came up roses for Bishop Kenny against Creekside when the teams last played back in December of 2022, as the team secured a 50-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Kenny since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
