Volleyball Recap: Immanuel Christian's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Immanuel Christian was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mojave last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders came up short against the Lone Pine Golden Eagles on Monday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crusaders have suffered since September 3rd.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-19.

Ava Blakie paced Immanuel Christian's offense, picking up 11 kills. Blakie got some help from Neisha Schollars and her 12 assists. Finally, Blakie was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Lone Pine's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yesenia Alegre, who had 11 kills, four blocks, and three digs. Alegre is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had eight or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Camila Martinez, who had four digs and two aces.

Immanuel Christian's loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-17. As for Lone Pine, they pushed their record up to 15-11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Immanuel Christian will welcome Baker at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lone Pine, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Owens Valley on the 21st.
