Basketball Recap: Louisa County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Goochland last Monday, Louisa County came back down to earth. The Louisa County Lions fell 61-48 to the Western Albemarle Warriors on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, Louisa County still got an impressive performance from Taylor Yeatts, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 18 points. Yeatts is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Lauren Goodman also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Louisa County's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Western Albemarle, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Louisa County will welcome Spotsylvania at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Louisa County is facing Spotsylvania at the right time seeing as Spotsylvania is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. Western Albemarle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
