Football Recap: Simsbury Takes a Loss

Simsbury had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it seven. They took a blow against the Windsor Warriors, falling 64-0. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Warriors are ranked 13th).

As for Windsor, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.0 points this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windsor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anthony Robinson, who threw for 272 yards and six TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 50 yards. Those six passing touchdowns gave Robinson a new career-high. Missoni Brown was another key receiver, gaining 231 total yards and three touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Simsbury will square off against Conard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will be up against the Red Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Windsor, they will face off against Southington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
