Cardinal came tearing into Monday's matchup with 11 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mathews Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

While Cardinal won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-23, 25-6.

Ali Puruczky paced Cardinal's offense, picking up 15 kills. Puruczky got some help from Olivia Krebs and her 11 assists. Krebs was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Cardinal's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Mathews, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Cardinal wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Grand Valley on the 30th. As for Mathews, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against St. John on the 30th.
