Baseball Recap: West Broward Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for West Broward, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Cypress Bay Lightning by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now won three in a row.

West Broward got a great performance from Braden Aguila as he struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave Aguila a new career-high.

On the hitting side, West Broward let Reggie Rodr?guez and Lenny Sufran run wild. Rodr?guez went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Sufran went 1-for-2 with one home run. Isaiah DelValle was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

West Broward pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cypress Bay, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Broward will challenge American Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Patriots have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cypress Bay, they will square off against South Plantation at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
