Basketball Recap: Prescott Skates Past Mingus with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Prescott on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Mingus Marauders out of the water with an 87-35 final score. The Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Prescott to victory were Uriah Tenette and Zane Gaul. Tenette went 11 for 20 on his way to 32 points in addition to eight assists and six steals, while Gaul dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 boards. Tenette is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last 43 games he's played dating back to last season. Jack Golleher was another key player, putting up six points.

Prescott smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Prescott has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Mingus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Prescott will challenge Mohave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Prescott's favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Mohave has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Mingus, they will take on Coconino at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
