While Branham has struggled on the road with three straight losses , that wasn't the case on Friday thanks to Kaci Nguyen. The Bruins walked away with a 3-1 win over the Leland Chargers for which the team can thank Nguyen, who had 23 digs and two assists. She has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Branham was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-23, 21-25, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Leland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kayla Krisman had eight digs and two aces.

The victory got Branham back to even at 15-15. As for Leland, their loss ended an 11-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 21-7.

Branham has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Evergreen Valley on the 28th. Leland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
