Baseball Recap: Wilson's Win Ends 15-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Wilson had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Cabrillo on Monday. The Wilson Wildcats were the clear victor by a 13-6 margin over the Cabrillo Jaguars. The Wildcats not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 4, 2024.

Christian Urbina made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Urbina was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Karl Cruz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Joshua Garcia, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Wilson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cabrillo only posted a batting average of .304.

Wilson's victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Cabrillo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson will head out to square off against Los Altos at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cabrillo, they will square off against Mary Star of the Sea at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
