Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Bears vs. Discovery Titans

Mountain View and Discovery are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Mountain View Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Discovery Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Mountain View came up short against Mill Creek and fell 68-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (60), the Bears still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Discovery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buford.

Mountain View has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Discovery, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.

Mountain View was able to grind out a solid win over Discovery in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 68-59. Does Mountain View have another victory up their sleeve, or will Discovery turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
