Whittier RVT extended the longest winning streak in Commonwealth - Large this week by beating Mystic Valley Regional, 29-8. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Wildcats.
Whittier RVT moved up to 171 from 200 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Kevin Bradley's team climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Eagles 29-8.
Northeast Metro RVT's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Troy Tartarini has thrown for 331 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Nick Giangregorio has eight catches for 144 yards. Kenny Bartolo leads the league in rushing with 525 yards.
A big matchup in Commonwealth - Large this week will be when Greater Lawrence Tech takes on Shawsheen Valley Tech. The Reggies are currently in third, while the Rams are in second.
Shawsheen Valley Tech and North Shore Tech/Essex Agricultural played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Shawsheen Valley Tech eventually emerging with a 34-28 victory.
