Softball Recap: David Anderson Gets the Win

David Anderson made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Southern, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Devils blew past the Indians 19-3 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Blue Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Kamryn Peruchetti was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Peruchetti was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Emelia Cook and Abby Ammon did most of the damage at the plate: Cook got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Ammon went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave Ammon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyler Malone, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

David Anderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

David Anderson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Southern, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

David Anderson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair will be back at it again later today.
