Baseball Game Preview: Dos Palos Broncos vs. Shafter Generals

The Dos Palos Broncos will take on the Shafter Generals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dos Palos is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They skirted past East Bakersfield 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Broncos as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shafter, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Kern Valley on Friday. Considering the Generals have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Andy Gomez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jesiah Rodriguez and Nini Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Garcia went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Garcia has posted since back in May of 2025. Julian Munoz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Shafter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matchups.

Shafter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Dos Palos, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
