Baseball Recap: Kearney Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lincoln High on Saturday, Kearney came back down to earth. The Bearcats came up short against the Grand Island Islanders on Tuesday, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Islanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 two weeks ago.

Kearney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Carrell, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Kearney's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Grand Island, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Kearney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-1 victory against Lincoln High on the 14th. As for Grand Island, they will face off against Lincoln Southwest at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
