The Steele Canyon Cougars will face off against the Poway Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Steele Canyon will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Steele Canyon and Ramona, and Steele Canyon kept the tradition alive. The Cougars blew past the Bulldogs 12-2 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Belle Will was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kendall Drake and Sophia Jackel did most of the damage at the plate: Drake went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Jackel went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Drake has posted since back in May of 2025. Payton Sos was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Steele Canyon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 9-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Poway rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Longhorns a 1-0 shutout.
Not much got past Aubrey Stiritz, who gave up just six hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Rancho Buena Vista off the board.
On the hitting side, Poway saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amelia Dockery, who went 2-for-5 with one RBI.
Steele Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Poway, their win bumped their record up to 14-15.
Poway's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Steele Canyon has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Poway, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Steele Canyon's sizable advantage in that area, the Titans will need to find a way to close that gap.
