Basketball Recap: Carlsbad Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The Carlsbad Lancers came up short against the Victory Christian Academy Knights on Saturday and fell 64-53. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sammell 'DJ' Humphries, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Owens, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

Carlsbad now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Victory Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Carlsbad will venture away from home to take on Maryknoll at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will head out to challenge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
