Baseball Game Preview: Osage City Indians vs. Mission Valley Vikings

The Osage City Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Mission Valley Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Osage City lost 16-1 to Hayden on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Osage City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JD Tyson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Mission Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of West Franklin. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Osage City's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Mission Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6-2.

Osage City skirted past Mission Valley 8-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
