Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Harley Summers and Josie Brandon Lead Herrin to Victory

Herrin saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Riverview Gardens Rams.

Herrin was led to victory by Josie Brandon and Harley Summers. Brandon had seven aces and four digs, while Summers had seven aces and six assists. Those seven aces gave Brandon a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Herrin was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Herrin's victory bumped their record up to 9-21. As for Riverview Gardens, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Herrin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Okawville on the 18th. As for Riverview Gardens, they will challenge McCluer North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
