Seminole Ridge had won five straight home games and Pierce Giebenrath did his part to make it six on Thursday. The Hawks walked away with a 3-1 victory over Boca Raton with plenty of help from Giebenrath, who had 25 digs and three aces. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games he's played.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 26-24.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wellington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Cardinal Gibbons by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 25-17.
Wellington's win came from a few key players Seminole Ridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryan Rojas, who had 15 assists and five digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Martinez, who had 18 assists and seven digs.
Wellington's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Seminole Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's game: Seminole Ridge has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Wellington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
