Needles is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Pahrump Valley. The Needles Mustangs came out on top against the Pahrump Valley Trojans by a score of 25-21. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Emmerson Powell, who went 6-for-7 with one home run, six runs, and two triples. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Scotti Powell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Needles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
