Lumberton won the last time they faced Fairmont and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates breezed past the Golden Tornadoes to the tune of 77-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Pirates have posted against the Golden Tornadoes since January 4, 2023.

Lumberton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amare Jones, who posted 18 points. Christopher Hammonds was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Lumberton was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairmont only racked up five.

Several Golden Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob McCollum, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points along with five boards and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Ayden Cummings, who scored eight points.

Lumberton pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points over those games. As for Fairmont, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Lumberton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-56 win against Overhills on the 25th. As for Fairmont, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Scotland at 7:30 p.m. on December 3.
