Two dominant signal callers in Jake Lowery and Sammy Dunn are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Moody Blue Devils will square off against the Vigor Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Moody's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.
Moody is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Scottsboro 35-10. Considering the Blue Devils have won ten games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Moody's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Le'Kamren Meadows, who rushed for 118 yards on only 11 carries. Another rusher making a difference was Kevin James, who rushed for 58 yards and a pair of TDs.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Moody proved: they limited Scottsboro to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Jagger Ludolf for the heroic effort on defense: he. Moody didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.5.

Moody's defense also made the game a nightmare for Jacobi Edmonson, racking up eight sacks. Scottsboro's QB won't forget Henry Smith anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Smith also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11. Ludolf was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Vigor had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 28-21.
Vigor's win came from a few key players Moody will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Demetris Johnson, who rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Zy Wilson was another key player, picking up 107 receiving yards and one score.
Vigor's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Moody, their win bumped their record up to an identical 12-2.
Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Moody has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 180.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Vigor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 159.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
