Volleyball Game Preview: Monroeville Eagles vs. Jackson-Milton Bluejays

After both having extra time off, the Monroeville Eagles and the Jackson-Milton Bluejays will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Monroeville comes in on 20 and Jackson-Milton on three.

Monroeville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They skirted past Mohawk 3-2.

Monroeville was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (98-93), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 14-25, 14-25, 15-12.

Addison Homan was nothing short of spectacular: she had 35 digs and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last 27 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kaci Poths, who had five digs and two aces.

Monroeville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Jackson-Milton made easy work of St. John on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Jackson-Milton's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Monroeville, their victory bumped their record up to 22-2.
