Softball Recap: Crook County Cowboys vs. Madras White Buffaloes

Crook County was the 11-1 winner over Madras when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cowboys took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the White Buffaloes on Monday. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kendall Martinez was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Martinez was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Elizabeth Forbes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and two doubles. Alyson Ware was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Crook County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Madras, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.
