Baseball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bruce Randolph last Friday, Kennedy came back down to earth. The Commanders fell just short of the DSST: Montview Knights by a score of 11-9 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Commanders have suffered since April 23, 2025.

Ki'Marri Dotson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Joan 'JJ' Bustamante also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for DSST: Montview, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kennedy will challenge rival Denver West at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, DSST: Montview is set to face off against their familiar foe Bruce Randolph at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
