Vanguard was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dunnellon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Vanguard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Volker, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
On Dunnellon's side, Danny Melendez and Gavin Hickey did most of the damage at the plate: Melendez went 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Hickey scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
