Volleyball Recap: Lake Norman Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Lake Norman was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Iredell on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Iredell Raiders on Thursday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

While Lake Norman had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18.

Ella Conway paced Lake Norman's offense, picking up 17 kills. Conway got some help from Alayna Lefebvre and her 29 assists. Finally, Sage Duerr kept Lake Norman's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Lake Norman has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for North Iredell, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Lake Norman will challenge Davie County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Iredell, they will be taking part in a tournament against Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
