McLoughlin is 8-2 against Umatilla since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The McLoughlin Pioneers will head out to square off against the Umatilla Vikings at 6:00 p.m. McLoughlin has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 17.

Last Saturday, McLoughlin ended up a good deal behind Nyssa and lost 38-20.

Meanwhile, Umatilla was beaten by Vale 56-25 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Umatilla can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Vale is ranked tenth).

Umatilla's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for McLoughlin, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

McLoughlin took their victory against Umatilla when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 53-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for McLoughlin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
