Willow Glen came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 43-21 margin over the Gunderson Grizzlies. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Aiden Akery had an outrageously good game as he threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 64 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Zackary Papedis, who rushed for 52 yards and one score.

When it comes to explaining why Gunderson lost, don't look at Andrew Fernandez. Despite the final result, he threw for 246 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 69 yards and one TD on only eight carries. The Grizzlies' leading receiver Greg Darling was Fernandez's top target yet again, picking up 115 receiving yards and one score.

Willow Glen's record is now 7-2. As for Gunderson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.
