Preview: Northside Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Ben Lippen Falcons
Northside Christian Academy is 0-10 against Ben Lippen since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Northside Christian Academy Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Ben Lippen Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, everything went Northside Christian Academy's way against Spartanburg Christian Academy as Northside Christian Academy made off with a 62-37 win. Given Northside Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Spartanburg Christian Academy is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dane Sundell and Cade McNeil were among the main playmakers for Northside Christian Academy as the former scored 23 points along with four steals and the latter scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Bohnsack, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Ben Lippen waltzed into their game Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They blew past Providence Athletic Cluv 65-37 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-12.
Northside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Ben Lippen, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Northside Christian Academy lost to Ben Lippen on the road by a decisive 64-47 margin when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Northside Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
