Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Hemlock's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Hemlock won the last time they faced Valley Lutheran, and Victoria Hauffe did her part to make sure it happened again. The Hemlock Huskies took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 53-15 win over the Valley Lutheran Chargers thanks in part to Hauffe, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 28 points and nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hemlock's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Klaira Salo, who posted 11 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave her a new career-high.

Hemlock is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.9 points. As for Valley Lutheran, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Hemlock will square off against Alma at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hemlock is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season. As for Valley Lutheran, they will head out on the road to challenge Laingsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
