Softball Recap: Middleton Tigers vs. Leto Falcons

Middleton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-18 in the process. They came up short against the Leto Falcons, falling 23-8. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

As for Leto, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11. 23 seems to be a good number for they as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Leto's part, they got a massive performance out of Jayla Fernandez, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most stolen bases Fernandez has posted since back in February. Brooklynn Duran was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Middleton will take on Plant City at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Leto, they will challenge Blake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
