Football Game Preview: Kempsville Chiefs vs. Green Run Stallions + How To Watch

Kempsville is 0-10 against Green Run since October of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Chiefs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Two weeks ago, Kempsville didn't have too much trouble with Bayside as they won 37-20. The Chiefs haven't had any issues with the Marlins recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Rob Hughes Jr went supernova, rushing for 199 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Camir Croom, who rushed for 48 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kempsville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bayside only rushed for four.

Meanwhile, Green Run beat Cox 20-7 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Stallions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Falcons are ranked 108th).

Kempsville better keep an eye on Charles Jackson. He was instrumental in Green Run's win, throwing for 257 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Green Run's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Kempsville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
