It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bastrop had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 62-0 victory over the Burbank Bulldogs. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 41 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Gary Jefferson Jr., who rushed for 184 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries, and also caught one score. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Bastrop also got help from Zac Wilkinson, who showed off his sure hands for 128 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bastrop was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burbank only rushed for 108.

Bastrop's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.2 points. As for Burbank, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Coming up, Bastrop will take on University at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,006 yards in their previous games. Burbank does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
