Basketball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Adelanto

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trabuco Hills, Adelanto was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They took down the Escondido Charter Tigers 56-40. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Tigers are ranked 741st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Mowrey, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. Mowrey is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Scates, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Adelanto pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Escondido Charter, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9.

Adelanto didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-40 loss against North on the 3rd. As for Escondido Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-43 defeat against Bishop's on the 4th.
