Football Game Preview: Bath Wildcats vs. Shelby Whippets

The Bath Wildcats will face off against the Shelby Whippets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bath is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bellevue a 21-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Redmen are ranked 209th).

Mikey Hale was his usual excellent self, rushing for 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also picking up 30 receiving yards.

Hale was just one part of a punishing run game: Bath was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellevue only rushed for 40.

Meanwhile, Shelby put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Orrville to the tune of 42-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Whippets just coasted through the last quarter.

Bath's record now sits at 9-2. As for Shelby, their record is now 11-0.
