Softball Recap: Lake Stevens Vikings vs. Monroe Bearcats
While Lake Stevens's victory against Monroe wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Lake Stevens narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Monroe 8-6. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Mara Sivley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emerson Cummins was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Reese Breckenridge also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
