Basketball Recap: Minden Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Minden played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 74-20 loss at the hands of the Ogallala Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Whippets have suffered against the Indians since January 27, 2020.

Despite the loss, Minden still got an impressive performance from Myla Emery, who posted 14 points.

Ogallala found their leader in sophomore Shaydyn Rasby, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 17 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Rasby is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Aniston O'Neil was another key player, shooting 40% from the field on her way to 16 points.

Minden's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ogallala, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minden will square off against Lexington at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ogallala, they will take on Chase County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
