Basketball Game Preview: St. Andrew's Lions vs. Frederica Academy

St. Andrew has gone 10-0 against Frederica Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The St. Andrew's Lions will venture away from home to face off against Frederica Academy at 7:30 p.m. St. Andrew's knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Frederica Academy likes a good challenge.

St. Andrew's will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 39) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hilton Head Island, sneaking past 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since January 20, 2024.

St. Andrew's relied on the efforts of Ja'Cari Glover, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and Zayden Edwards, who posted 18 points and seven assists. Glover is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Cummings, who put up nine points.

St. Andrew's smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Frederica Academy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Gators 43-28. Given Frederica Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Bulloch Academy is ranked 374th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Andrew's record is now 13-3. As for Frederica Academy, their record now sits at 11-2.

St. Andrew's took their victory against Frederica Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 67-42. Will St. Andrew's repeat their success, or does Frederica Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
