Softball Recap: Londonderry Extends Home Winning Streak to 12

Londonderry strolled into their game on Monday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Timberlane Owls. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Elizabeth Kearney made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sadie Moore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Shannon Crowley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Londonderry's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Timberlane, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
