Softball Game Preview: Tamaqua Blue Raiders vs. Hamburg Hawks

The Tamaqua Blue Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Hamburg Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Tamaqua had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Jim Thorpe on Wednesday. Everything went Tamaqua's way against Jim Thorpe as Tamaqua made off with a 10-1 win.

Ceanna Gormley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gormley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Addison Krall was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Nico Conahan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hamburg gave up the first runs last Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Boiling Springs with a sharp 11-5 victory.

Tamaqua might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from Hamburg in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Tamaqua avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
