Recap: Woodland Baptist Christian Eagles vs. Gospel Light Christian

Gospel Light Christian typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Woodland Baptist Christian Eagles proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the and snuck past 60-58. The victory was familiar territory for Woodland Baptist Christian who now have three in a row.

Gospel Light Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Samuel Sisk, who scored 18 points along with six assists, and Drake Walker who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Walker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Creed Coleman, who scored six points.

Woodland Baptist Christian's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Gospel Light Christian, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodland Baptist Christian will square off against Vandalia Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vandalia Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Woodland Baptist Christian is ranked 202nd). As for Gospel Light Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against South Guilford HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in South Guilford HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
