Basketball Recap: Hinkley Comes Up Short at Home Against Jefferson Academy + How To Watch

Hinkley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Jefferson Academy Jaguars on Tuesday, falling 64-13. The Thunder were not able to make up for their loss to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Hinkley got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Josiah Lopez and Mading Miakol, who each put up four points.

Jimeto Orji had an outrageously good game for Jefferson Academy as he dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten boards. The contest was Orji's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Seth Lane, who posted nine points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds.

Hinkley has already played their next matchup, a 66-27 defeat against Manual on the 3rd. As for Jefferson Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-52 loss against Frontier Academy on the 3rd.
