Basketball Recap: Ethan Jaramillo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Amarillo Collegiate Academy over Amarillo Homeschool F

Amarillo Collegiate Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 55-37 to the Amarillo HomeSchool F Flames. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Flames from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Amarillo Collegiate Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ethan Jaramillo, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Caden Holly, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points.

Amarillo Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Amarillo HomeSchool F, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amarillo Collegiate Academy will take on Accelerate Christian in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Amarillo Collegiate Academy is facing Accelerate Christian at the right time seeing as Accelerate Christian is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Amarillo HomeSchool F, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Amarillo Collegiate Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
