Basketball Recap: Richlands Wildcats vs. White Oak Vikings

Richlands had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it seven. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the White Oak Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-30 two weeks ago.

As for White Oak, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

White Oak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aariel Jemison, who posted 15 points along with seven boards and five steals. Jemison is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Ferguson, who scored 11 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Looking ahead, Richlands won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for White Oak, they and Havelock will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played.
