After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hickory, Maiden was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the South Iredell Vikings by a score of 3-1. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2021.

The victory didn't come easy: South Iredell scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why South Iredell lost, don't look at Bella Gallyon. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs and two aces. Gallyon has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played. Delaney Karriker also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Maiden is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for South Iredell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

Maiden has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bandys on the 2nd. As for South Iredell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Davie County on the 30th.
