Baseball Recap: Hudson Hawks vs. Plymouth North Eagles
It was a Battle of the Birds when Hudson faced off against Plymouth North on Friday. Hudson came out on top against Plymouth North by a score of 8-5. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 8-0 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2016.
Anthony Moura was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Moura was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Blake Freitas was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
The victory got Hudson back to even at 1-1. As for Plymouth North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hudson will face off against Nipmuc Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Plymouth North, they will challenge Quincy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
