Timberline faced Rocky Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wolves lost 3-0 to the Grizzlies. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

While Timberline was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Rocky Mountain's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 25-23.

Lily Mesevier paced Timberline's offense, picking up 12 kills. Mesevier got some help from Mckenna Satterfield and her 28 assists. Finally, Mesevier was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Rocky Mountain can attribute much of their success to Sophie Tanner, who had 15 digs and three assists.

Timberline's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Rocky Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Timberline didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Capital on the 18th. After both having extra time off, Rocky Mountain and Borah will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
