Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Hanford

There's no place like home for Hanford, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Walla Walla Blue Devils a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.

Alanah Eagleheart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jadyn Owens, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Neve Jimenez, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Hanford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walla Walla only posted an OBP of .222.

Hanford pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Walla Walla, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hanford beat the Blue Devils by a score of 10-0 later that day.
