Covington falls despite strong effort from Coye Ferguson

Recap: Covington Trojans vs. Lebanon Tigers

The Covington Trojans suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Lebanon by a score of 54-51. Covington has not had much luck with Lebanon recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Covington still got an impressive performance from Coye Ferguson, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ferguson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kolten Haymaker, who scored 11 points.

It was another big night for Kaden Lark, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Lebanon. Lark is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Ferrell, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.

Covington has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Lebanon, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covington will take on North Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lebanon, they will head out on the road to face off against Southmont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
